dc.description.abstract | Objetivo: evaluar el efecto antifúngico in vitro del extracto
hidroalcohólico de Solanum sessiliflorum (cocona) contra
Candida albicans ATCC 10231.
Materiales y Métodos: estudio cuantitativo,
experimental y aplicado. Se utilizaron 1,6 kg de frutos de
cocona para preparar el extracto mediante maceración
dinámica durante 10 días. Se realizaron pruebas de solubilidad y tamizaje fitoquímico, y se aplicó la técnica de difusión en
pozos (Kirby Bauer modificado) con diluciones del extracto al 95%, 90% y 75%, frente a fluconazol como control.
Resultados: el extracto fue muy soluble en etanol al 70° y
mostró la presencia de compuestos fenólicos, lactonas α, β
insaturadas y antocianinas.
El extracto hidroalcohólico de Solanum sessiliflorum no mostró
efecto antifúngico in vitro frente a Candida albicans ATCC

dc.description.abstract | Objective: to evaluate the in vitro antifungal effect of the hydroalcoholic extract of Solanum sessiliflorum (cocona) against Candida albicans ATCC 10231. Materials and Methods: quantitative, experimental and applied study. 1.6 kg of cocona fruits were used to prepare the extract by dynamic maceration for 10 days. Solubility tests and phytochemical screening were performed, and the well diffusion technique (modified Kirby Bauer) was applied with 95%, 90% and 75% dilutions of the extract, versus fluconazole as a control. Results: the extract was highly soluble in 70° ethanol and showed the presence of phenolic compounds, α, β unsaturated lactones and anthocyanins.
